Why bother
Nothing changes about what Qlarify does. What changes is how fast you get to it. Installed, it opens in its own window with no tabs, no address bar and no bookmark to hunt for, and it stays signed in. If you use it daily, that is the difference between a tool you open and a tool you leave open.
There is nothing to download from an app store. Qlarify is a web app, so installing it just gives the site you already use its own icon.
Install it
- Open Google Chrome and go to qlarifyapp.com. Sign in.
- Click the three dots at the top right of Chrome.
- Choose Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app. On some versions it reads Install Qlarify instead — same thing.
- Click Install when Chrome asks.
Qlarify opens in its own window. That window is the app.
There is a shortcut if you prefer it: look at the right-hand end of the address bar for a small install icon — a monitor with a downward arrow. Clicking that does the same thing in one step.
Pin it so it stays
Installing gives you the app. Pinning is what puts it somewhere you can reach in one click. Either route works:
- While the app is open: right-click the Qlarify icon in your taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar. Done.
- Any time after: press the Windows key, type Qlarify, then right-click the result and choose Pin to taskbar or Pin to Start.
If you want it on the desktop itself, drag it out of the Start menu results onto the desktop.
If you do not see the install option
- Check you are in Chrome, not Edge. Edge can do this too, but the menu wording differs — look for Apps, then Install this site as an app.
- Update Chrome. Three dots, Help, About Google Chrome. It updates itself and asks to relaunch.
- Make sure you are on the app, not a marketing page. Sign in first, then install from the dashboard.
- It may already be installed. If the menu offers Open in Qlarify rather than an install option, you did this already — skip to pinning.
Removing it
Right-click the Qlarify icon in the Start menu and choose Uninstall, or open Chrome's chrome://apps page, right-click Qlarify and choose Remove from Chrome. Nothing in your account is affected — the site is still there in a normal tab.
On a Mac instead? Adding Qlarify to your Mac Dock. On your phone? Adding Qlarify to your iPhone home screen.
