How to Add Qlarify to Your Mac Dock

Qlarify runs in the browser, but it does not have to live in a tab. Chrome will install it as a proper Mac app that sits in your Applications folder and stays in your Dock.

Why bother

Nothing changes about what Qlarify does. What changes is how fast you get to it. Installed, it opens in its own window with no tabs, no address bar and no bookmark to hunt for, and it stays signed in. If you use it daily, that is the difference between a tool you open and a tool you leave open.

There is nothing to download from an app store. Qlarify is a web app, so installing it just gives the site you already use its own icon.

Install it

  1. Open Google Chrome and go to qlarifyapp.com. Sign in.
  2. Click the three dots at the top right of Chrome.
  3. Choose Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app. Some versions read Install Qlarify — same thing.
  4. Click Install.

Qlarify opens in its own window, and Chrome puts it in your Applications folder like any other Mac app.

The one-step version: look at the right-hand end of the address bar for a small install icon — a monitor with a downward arrow.

Keep it in the Dock

The app appears in the Dock while it is running, but it will not stay there on its own. To make it stick:

  1. With Qlarify open, right-click (or Control-click) its Dock icon.
  2. Choose Options, then Keep in Dock.

Now it is there whether the app is running or not, and one click opens it.

Finding it later

Press Command + Space and type Qlarify. It also shows in Launchpad and in your Applications folder. You can drag it from Applications straight onto the Dock if you would rather do it that way.

If you do not see the install option

  • Update Chrome. Three dots, Help, About Google Chrome.
  • Safari does this differently. Safari can add a site to the Dock through File, Add to Dock, but Chrome is the route we support — use Chrome if you have it.
  • Sign in first. Install from the dashboard, not from a marketing page.
  • It may already be installed. If the menu offers Open in Qlarify instead, you are done — just pin it to the Dock.

Removing it

Drag it out of the Applications folder to the Trash, or open chrome://apps, right-click Qlarify and choose Remove from Chrome. Your account is untouched.

On Windows instead? Adding Qlarify to your Windows desktop. On your phone? Adding Qlarify to your iPhone home screen.

Installed? Open it and pick up where the setup guide left off.
